ARNOLD families in America seem to be mainly descended from English anscestors from two localities in central and southern England.

(1) Families located traditionally in Gloucestershire.

(2) Families located in or near the city of London. (Benedict Arnold, who attempted to betray the American base at West Point during the revolution was entitled to the coat of arms in this area.) An ARNOLD family which married into the noble Welsh house of Inar, Lord of Gwent, sometime after 1125.
