Scriptures To Pray For Our People

Christians need to pray for all men everywhere. There is amazing power in united prayer. Pray with others whenever possible. The power of prayer can overcome any obstacle or ungodly influence and, indeed, do great things!

II Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, will heal their land.

Acts 17:30 - Pray for repentance for yourself.

Psalm 32:6-7 - Pray that Christians will be motivated to pray faithfully.

Psalm 125 - Pray that those who trust in the Lord will not be shaken.

Psalm 86:14-17 - Pray that the Lord would defeat those who have no regard for Him.

Meet Arthur Joia:

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing,”
1 Thessalonians 5:11. (E.S.V.)

Our loving Father,
In the name of Your Son we offer our prayer today. In His abiding love we place our trust. Because of His example, our hope is in the blood of Your beloved Son, offered for the sins of all men who will turn to You, accept Your way, and live in Your precepts.

We pray earnestly and confidently that You will support our efforts to preach and teach Your word. As Your church, great effort is being made to reach out over the world. Open our eyes to see that a special effort is needed to teach and preach in our nation’s Capitol and on each street that we live. Help us, Father, to say the things Jesus would say and say them in the way He would say them.

Here today, our Father, the name of our friend and brother, Arthur Joia, is lifted up to your care. Be with him and give him strength and power to honor your word. If it is your will, please sustain and help him in his needs as your see them.

We are grateful, Father, for Your love. Teach us to love. Thank you for Your mercy. Strengthen our resolve to be merciful. We wonder at Your forgiveness. Grow our faith that we might be as forgiving.

Gracious Father, help us walk above the cares of this world and turn our faces and hearts to You that we might know Your life and light.

Through the Christ, our true light, Amen.
