Evelyn Roe passes

Evelyn Estelle McLarty Roe was born March 23, 1920 in Seymour, Texas and died June 17, 2018 in Durango, CO. She marriedBergen Roe also from Seymour during World War II. Bergen was a medic in the Navy and was involved in treating Pearl Harbor injured sailors. Bergen and Evelyn had two children: Delbert Wade Roe and Mary Ellen Orbison-both with red hair and freckles like her. Evelyn was preceded in death by Bergen and two brothers, Jewel and Morris McLarty. She had 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who live in Texas, Colorado, and Nashville. Evelyn was an employee of Texas Instruments for many years but her first occupation was being a loving mother to Delbert and Mary. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since an early age. She lived most of her life as a resident of Grand Prairie, TX. As she advanced in age, she moved to Durango, Colorado and made her home with her daughter Mary Orbison whose husband, Guy, has been a minister with the Church of Christ for over 40 years. Evelyn was a wonderful, generous, loving woman who placed God and her family at the top of her priorities. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews will miss her beautiful smile and sweet demeanor. She was a Godly woman and always had kind words for others. will be buried with her late husband at the Veterans Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX.
